Thanks Brent. We'll see if we can get the Firebird a little faster.

Thanks Bob... im pretty sure the parts that i have will go .5 under, if not faster...but, as we discussed, my heads may be a factor... my engine just doesnt like anything above 5500, except in high gear... so i think that eliminates a fuel delivery issue....smooth as silk, but just doesnt make tons of power in the midrange...

What does your fuel system consist of?

8 gal cell... 10AN line out to the pump( magna fuel 275) to 8 AN , all the way to regulator( Volumemax Holley) to 8AN to carb... should be sufficient, i'd think...

It pulls in high gear fairly well, it just doesnt make power 6k or above, in 2nd gear, so i shift early... It likes 5400 for 1-2 and goes good to 5600-5800 for 2-3 shift... traps at 6300+ 4.56 gear, short radial... 3465#

Coming from a Mopar guy, (but a closet Pontiac guy) that is a thing of beauty right there!! Love this thread!!!!

Thanks Doug!

Went to Muncie this Saturday... went 4 rounds... best ET of 11.463/115.10 with a 1.497 60ft...most were 1.50x

I didnt have any problems hitting the 1-2 shift , car was consistent as could be, and predictable... was leaving well.... Not sure whose 60ft timers to believe, as the car only does 1.53x 60fts at NHRA tracks, but does 1.50x at home, and car feels the same to me... Hard to believe the car still goes 11.40s, shifting at 5300 into high gear... Debating on when i want to go back to last years' cam ... and when im gonna pull a head and do some flow comparisons... Car is running fine, but would like to see 11.20s this year...

Glad to hear it's running well Brent. Mine went 11.46 with a 1.47 60' this Saturday at BG. Tweaks over the winter seem to been a wash so far...guess its time to pull the heads on mine as well. My biggest problem this year has been my driving, not the car.

Glad to hear its running well... we'd be a killer heads up! hehe
Im not sure, but i think my intake valve angle and bowl hog may be hurting my deal... we never flowed anything to see if it helped or hurt... cam seems to have hurt my engine a tad... it didnt do anything for powerband, but, it didnt seem to hurt torque... Im thinking of changing cam, back to my old one, but might make more sense to check heads first... Either way, 266/272 is alot of cam... My deal likes way less... It shows no more MPH, at 1/8 or 1/4 mile, so it has gained me no HP...I believe its slowed me near a tenth, but i picked some of that back up, in weight loss, and less HP drag, with the 350 trans...
