Today's construction, a "Just In Time" switch mounting bracket. Shown here in rough/under development form.

The material is 12 gauge sheet [1/16"] light, easy and ridged.

I "fret" over things! Especially items that are giving me trouble because I am having problems visualizing the details.

Example, engine placement in the Super 10. Because S-10 trucks never came equipped with SBC engines nor 12 bolt rear axles, nor 32 x 14 rear tires it is a challenge to juggle the driveline alignment.

So, after some "fishing lessons" from an experienced friend, I did just like a full tube chassis would be aligned.

I used a full length mandrel [also known as a section of 2 1/2" tubing] through all main caps all the way to the pinion flange.

Photo #1 shows mandrel aligned with pinion [camera angle is mis-leading, it is spot on aligned]

Photo #3 show mandrel out rear of block

Photo #4 shows mandrel out front main

When finalized the pinion will be adjusted about 1.5* down

I like it when a plan comes together

We have two more photos of the "Just In Time" switch mounting. The photos are not a true representation of the position. It is just right for gettin all over the bottom bulb

Being satisfied with the positioning it comes out for cleanup and paint.

Also note the instrument readings

It gives me a smile when parts go in for the final time. This shows the bed cleaned and painted [well, almost, mid floor will be in soon]

Battery, cell, compressor, fuel pump ready to bolt down. Also, some of the wiring roughed in and in process.

Third photo shows becoming satisfied with front plate placement. Mounting tab patterns attached with vice grips.

This will be an interesting week for the Super 10. I am submitting the information to Micheal Beard to finish the design work.

Once Michael has the final design I will post the results. The design will incorporate our "Team Woodfin" logo, the "Super 10" logo and other special licks.

The truck bed will have a white aluminum cover. On that cover will be;

"Faster Than A Bullet"

"More Powerful Than A Locomotive"

"Able To Leap Tall Buildings"

[then the Super 10 logo]
