I have an 88 Camaro J/SA TPI 230/264HP 350 for those of you who may recall it's the late great Jim Harringtons old car. I am trying to replace the valve springs and I have no idea what I'm looking for could anyone tell me what springs I need for this motor size, type, brand, part number whatever.
The car has developed a miss right at the shift points and I've checked everything I can possibly think of and this is the only thing I can come up with being the problem. Thank You in advance, Mark Young |

Here is thread from last year about the PAC1409X springs. We abuse them regularly in our Chevy II stocker!

Mark, we have the same combo and went with Comp. Cams conical
springs. Give Tim Cole @ CompCams a call and he will look after you well. J.R. |

Marco,
Feel free to call us (PAC) at 866-799-9417 ask for Matt. I will tell you the same thing Jim said. It's a tried and true combo. |

Thanks JR and TB6 I will call both. Does it sound like this maybe what is causing the sputter problem I mentioned above? We have a bracket motor in the car now that is set up just like the class motor and it doesn't do it

Mark, chasing an engine miss is like finding a girl that asks if you can
spend less on her Christmas gift this this year, cause she would rather see you spend that extra money on your race car. Damn near impossible. You have eliminated every thing else, the springs seem logical, and they sure won't hurt you. J.R. |

lol the problem is that I bought this car from Anthony Bertozzi and he just owned it so I really couldn't ask anything about it. So I've been trying to figure out as much as I can from people who have similar combinations. and to make things even more challenging we are new to Stock so there's been a lot to learn. not complaining it's been a lot of fun and you couldn't buy a car from a better person than Anthony Bertozzi that guy is a class act.

Does it have a miss in high gear? What RPM do you shift at? I don't believe the tune port likes a lot of RPM's like the carb engines do.
