I've always just used a propane torch Dave. Heat the metal shells until the rubber starts to melt and you can easily punch them out with a hammer/drift...took me about 20 minutes for all four bushings.

Slowly but surely removing the garbage from this car. Front brakes and manual rack in...been a fairly productive Thanksgiving weekend.

Here lately I've just been cleaning up the engine bay and going thru the mass of wiring. I have a bit of painting to do and I'm trying to time it with the prevailing weather...it needs to happen soon if it's going to happen this year. I do have the manual brake parts to install as well as a new aluminum radiator w/fans that I picked up for $149.

I need to get my rings finished for the Camaro so I can begin putting it back together. It needs to be finished and out of the way before I can bring the 302 home and tear it down.

Somehow managed to get some pieces painted today despite the cold...probably crack off like a M&M candy shell lol. If it turns out as good as I think it is I may end up painting the entire car...dammit.

Got the trunk area and engine bay touched up yesterday. I still have to yank that windshield washer bottle out of the fender.

This afternoon was a light day...all I did was mount the manual m/c and clean up the shop.

Here is the custom 3 gallon cell w/in-tank efi pump. Going to mount it high on a bracket which will extend out both sides for weight boxes.

New radiator fits fine despite the tweaked radiator support.

A question for anyone who might know -

I have asked this question on some Mustang forums with no replies to date. When I removed the luggage rack and spoiler from the donor trunk lid I ran into a problem. The spoiler was attached to the lid with a screw at each end...no problem. The third brake light housing was attached to the lid with two long screws...problem is the spoiler sits on top of the housing preventing access to the screws. With the spoiler loose on both ends I pried some to try and separate the two pieces to no avail...finally just took a die grinder under the trunk lid and cut off the protruding screws to release it. I will need to figure out how this works in order to put all the pieces back on the newly painted lid. Maybe some adhesive was used between the bottom of the spoiler and top of the brake housing? Just looking for advice before I get heavy handed and break something.

You're correct about the adhesive. There's a patch of black adhesive in the recess of the brake light that bonds to the bar. Use a heat gun and pry the two apart.

By the way, you can do away with the luggage rack and add a spoiler if you claim the car as a 1993. There is a special edition convertible for 1993 that has a factory spoiler that looks nice.
