When I listened to Charlie's interview on the radio, I don't believe he said he was going to run the full tour, but wanted to race maybe 5 or so races, someplace other than where all of the Hemi Shoot Outs are ran. With their Hemi cars they go to the Shoot Outs, where they can win money, not for the BBQ, and they aren't going to the other National events just to run SS/AH. He stated that there are tracks that are reasonably close to his home, where he can run several races, and not get bored with going to the same place all of time.
I think Charlie's work ethic, and skill in designing, and machining ability, it is going to take him a lot further than some people are giving him credit for. That Ford doesn't know it's a Ford, it's just an engine, and like somebody else said, he was successful in a Chevy, and I would say you can't argue about how well , he made the transition to the Hemi, so I think it is going to be really interesting to see what he does. Somebody mentioned on Moparts, that maybe Charlie Jr. and Sr.won't be racing the Cudas anymore, but what the other SS/AH non-BBQers better hope is that they don't come out, and run the Hemi Shoot Outs, to finance the Pro Stock effort! Just kidding!! Good Luck Charlie! Who will now wear the "black hat" in SS/AH, if we don't have the Wescotts? |

I thought Charlie reminded me of Warren Johnson too. He is like an old school Pro Stock racer, developing his own parts, building everything himself and driving it. When Warren Johnson was in hi prime, I remember him saying "There aren't to many Bob Gliddens out there" Lot's of mutual respect. I think maybe he doesn't think too highly of Erica is because she just drives, AND CAN SHE EVER DRIVE! There are a lot of great teams out there that can sure make horsepower. One that stands out to me is Jason Line, and Greg Anderson for that matter. Jason sure doesn't act like he thinks he's special, he's always finding something wrong with his driving. It will take Charlie Wescott a while to run with the top guys. He will need a sharp crew guy though.

1. Rename thread to Westcott to run ProStock.
2. He apologizes to me and Hard for having projacks as we were wasting money! Now he has 'em. 3. Allow me to sponsor him at 2015 Spring Nationals Houston; he and Sr. come down in RV and I bring the car in Dually and 28' box. I will blow air in his tires for free. Now that would make ND. Got to take my hat off and congratulate Charlie for going with a Ford, like an old pro stock racer said many years ago ( Step rite up and lets see what you got.) Lets see what is going to happen!
