Default Head and Neck Restraint Systems

I am looking at purchasing a system in the off-season. What brand/model seems to be the most popular and well liked at the moment? My biggest concern is that I have a door car and space is limited. I intend on trying some on but I would like to narrow down my options if possible and hear some positives/negatives from those who have worn in the past. I appreciate any and all suggestions.

HANS is what I use---not sure on a door car but make sure that the one you end up with is for driver use in specifically a door car...There is a 20* and a 30* angle that comes into play here so if you end up with the "wrong" one you will not be comfortable sitting in the car. Best to call the manufacturer direct tell them what you have and your situation and let them tell you what you will need--FED 387

Talking Re: Head and Neck Restraint Systems

I just purchased a Simpson Hybrid set from Jeff Kundratic. Liteweight, easy to get on, am able to get in car with it and helmet on, easy tether system for putting on and taking off. The service and input you get from Jeff from sale to install is over the top.

watch out for the neck size !!!! for a door car you will need a 20* restraint its more UPRIGHT--- 30* is for a more laid back sitting style like a dragster/altered --I understand Simpson has bought and now owns/sells 3 different brands of the "hans" supports--you will also have to either modify your existing helmet or purchase a helmet that is already set up to use a Hans---jsut make sure that any Hans you purchase hase a current SFI sticker on it---you will also need to get a helmet sock/skirt if I'm not mistaken could be wrong on that tho better check the rule book for sure!!!! to use a Hans instead of a neck collar--FED 387

Yep and the lay back is more expensive but the upright fiberglass one is the least expensive the SFI stickers now have an expiration date, helmet mods are simple, helmet skirt is a pain in the butt when fastening the helmet strap (May switch to a balaclava / head sock).
I would suggest the sliding teather option for super class racing.( you still can see better with a neck collar, but they are not as safe/effective.)
