Default Big Numbers Drag Racing Film (1969)

Written & narrated by Keith Jackson of ABC's Wide World of Sports fame. Featuring lots of Sox & Martin and Mopar footage. Presumably shown at Plymouth Supercar clinics.

Part 1

Part 2

Another good film professionally narrated featuring cars from 1972 Winternationals:

Part 2

Part 3

Bonus one more!

Drag Racing New York National Drag Strip Long Island May 1969

Surprisingly good film (quality-wise) unlike most others from that era. My only complaint is the background music!

Enjoy!

There's more on YouTube...you just have to look. Here's another favorite of mine from that era starring Dick Landy.

Early years were drag racing's best, most exciting, innovative, colorful and affordable as far as I'm concerned. It's a real pity the video recording technology, especially that available to the public, was so crude. You have crystal clear, state of the art, very affordable and compact equipment available today but that once in a lifetime, über-cool, golden age is long gone.

A golden age is a period in a field of endeavor when great tasks were accomplished. The term originated from early Greek and Roman poets, who used to refer to a time when mankind lived in a better time and was pure.--Wikipedia

1. A period of great peace, prosperity, and happiness.
2. Greek & Roman Mythology. The first age of the world, an untroubled and prosperous era during which people lived in ideal happiness.

P.S. You're welcome, Glenn.
