Default 2015 drag pack challenger

I just read an article in Competition Plus that outlines the 2015 Challenger Drag Pack. It states it is equipped with a 9" rear. I assume Ford 9". Does this mean according to the rule book that the Ford 9" is the "new" Dana ", "same automobile manufactured" and is legal for all Mopars?

No.

This was already covered a while back, you must have missed it.

You cannot even run an aluminum center section, which came on one of the new cars, 8-3/4" Mopar or 9" Ford, in an older car. Pretty sure they made Ken take his aluminum 9" center section out, and I think Jim Wahl was told he couldn't run an aluminum 8-3/4" in his older Mopar.

I know for a FACT you CANT! I asked to use the "corporate" Diff from the COPO to replace my beatup 12 bolt and got DENIED! The officials (danny gracia, Bruce B) Said NOPE. They said if Idid not want to keep dealing with old parts and failures "Buck up and buy one of the new cars or QUIT"

In other words shut up or phase out.

I was not referring to the aluminum center section. I do remember what the ruling was on that issue. Chrysler does not make the Dana and the Dana is accepted. I imagine that the 9" probably is aftermarket? And if so doesn't it follow the path of the Dana?

Once again, no.

You have to understand that the rules that apply to the "new" cars are not the same rules that apply to the "traditional" cars.

Unfortunately, the V10 Drag Packs have a Powerglide trans (GM) UGH !!! It seems 'traditional' or "corporately legal" have lost their meaning.

Exactly, Alan. Like runs of 50 cars being allowed in Stock!

Alan is correct, I was told I could not run an aluminum 8.75 center section even though they were available and standard equipment on some A body lightweight (for gas mileage) production vehicles and also available in some truck Dodge applications in the '70's. Jim
