Sealed crate motor stock class for2015. Finally an entry level class. 55 up chassis, DR525 sealed motor ,Heads up no break out .4 pro tree. Randy Wilson sounds good.Now NHRA has a guide to keep the beginning over guys in NHRA.

At least the GM guys will have a place to try out their crate motor deals now. Since the NMCA and the NMRA run together now, the merge is coming, so it won't be long before the Coyote Stock winner will face off with the LS Stock winner in the final round to determine the event winner. Naturally there will be a bunch of b*tching so there will have to be weight adjustments and such to attempt some sort of parity between the 2 groups.

Maybe some would like a sealed cheap fun NHRA class to become a reality so a level cheap class could be a choice.

When the Coyote Stock crate motor class was announced a few years ago, I priced out a new sealed crate 5.0 and then added up what it would take to build a competitive Coyote Stock car. (rolling chassis plus C-4 trans, special Coyote Fox headers, lightweight front suspension, etc.)
It was north of $ 22,000. Instead of building the C/S car, I ended up buying a turn key Stocker for less than half that. No regrets.

And you still have to deal with Bogus HP combinations for a class trophy. When one SS/AH wins class none of the guys cry about HP. They all have the same opportunities to win class. A Crate motor is the same deal for 1/10 the money. Same bragging rights.... Same trophy... glad you have an inexpensive alternative...Bet the guy you bought it from spent a lot more than you did.

For me it turned out great because the very first pass I made in the car at an NHRA event I went 1.4xx under the index and set the Q/SA record on the next pass that day. Lucky for me I guess.

Congratulations. You make a good point. If you look carefully you "might" find a real alternative to Building a car and cheaper too. My thought these are few and far between and if a guy wants to just start and not enjoy heads up racing a sealed motor car could be fun and cheap.
