yeah what does that have to do with anything? I'm glad you put in so much time racing. I believe you were the one who blew up in engine from a motor my dad built cause you THOUGHT you knew what you were talking about but really didn't!!! There is a car guy right there!!! Again, why don't you ACTUALLY race instead of talking about it?

Since you brought it up the car came to him with a bogus carb on it. I guess you have no knowledge about that huh Eric? How about the weight bar behind the bumper, which was pointed out to us by a very accomodating NHRA tech man? And the wiring job from hell. If I went with him to get the car when he picked it up I would have cracked him in the crueller when he handed over the money. As far as I was told the carb approved was a 950CFM. I might have been wrong about that. I'll get back about it. So like the saying goes about people in glass houses............................... Addendum : Right out of the AMC Group 19 parts catalog PN 448-5730-19.401 950 CFM Holey carburetor I see no reference to a 750/780 carburetor .

ah, Ed the weight was legally mounted and the carb was approved by NHRA thank you very much! I'm not getting pissy and I'm smarter than you think! and yes its a 750 CFM carb not 950....no need to get back to me!

He is probably sick and tired of the no names jumping his case every time he posted anything. Im sure he is reading all the BS like I do. There is NO RESPECT for anyone on this site anymore like some who have posted on this thread already.

x2. I wonder how many potential racers and sponsors see crap like this, and log off.

It's pointless debating someone who doesn't see the facts for what they are. As far as the engine I didn't question the quality of the work your dad did on it.The fact is it was run with damage to it. We found the problem and when it was disassembled the liter was eaten down and contaminated the whole interior. I don't know what rule you interpreted when you put 100 lbs of ballast bolted to the rear bumper mounts. He was approached at Cecil Co. by Travis and told to have it removed before the next race. As far as the car, it looked like a mish mash of parts thrown together in the middle of the night. The wiring looked like a spaghetti dinner missing the sauce. And if NHRA tech approved that carb. well then you're a pretty good snake oil salesman. I repeat, if I was with him when he went to buy the car I would have told him to keep his money. So go ahead and throw insults at me, I have a thick skin.

Glenn, I'm only responding to accusations make by a third party with a shallow knowledge of the facts involved.Thank you for your concern.

My dad asked me to post his response on his behalf to everything that has been said on this thread and it goes as follows:
Hi everyone, Scott Pearson here, hopefully this will end the Jeff Lee thread. Just returned from 10 weeks on the west coast racing, great people. Talked to Jeff a few times and he's a nice guy. Very friendly, very driven and said he would try to make it back out this fall. Too many family obligations this summer. On the 79 spirit we sold to Mike, sorry to hear about the lifer but I've been there and done that. Mike made several passes in the car at -.60 under, seemed happy and bought it. When we bought the car and got DQ'd for the carb. They told us to bring the correct one to the tech trailer at the next race. Bob Blackwell and Bruce Bachelder both were there and said it was the correct carb for that combination. Lets race, NO SNAKE OIL!!! Ed, sorry you didn't like Eric's wiring job, it was his first wiring job and first race car. Made him to it by himself because if dad does it, the kids don't learn. Everything worked just fine. I raise Eric to be a winner and not a whiner. Having raced my AMX for 45 years and hanging around racing longer, I have learned one thing that we should all practice on this forum. If you don't have something good to say about some, just shut up! Scott Pearson |
