I'm not sure that Fletcher cares to dial-in race much with EFI. Contrary to the popular belief, they are pretty darn tricky to make them as consistent as carb cars.

I just remember Fletch with the efi firebird several years back and in talking to him, he wasn't a fan of the efi. I'm pretty certain Peter Biondo has also noted in the past (when we could monitor everyones runs through I-card) the consistency advantage of a carb over efi in stock. Another big time racer who chooses to race a carb. But hey, what do I know, maybe someone slipped me some drugs without me knowing.

Another friendly racer is correct, when I had my fuel injected pos (as my friend Bernie C and I affectionately referred to it), I never really got along with it. That's why we pulled my old Camaro out of the barn and made it into a stocker. But lets face it, that was then and this is now. I'm no genius, but the whole efi deal has come a long ways since then. Bridgewater's COPO was badass! The only thing that messed me up was my own poor evaluation of the tail wind's effect on a swoopy hot rod Sunday am.
I was feeling pretty good about the COPO's chances, and I actually thought I might be the lucky recipient of Pete's *** kicking in the final. Thanks again to Big Dave for the opportunity! |
