$3.50 an hour in 1969? Yes, he was your uncle. Everybody else in the country was making less than 1/2 that.

What will they be worth in 40-50 years? I bought a '67 GT500 in '77 for $3,900. I could probably trade the GT500 for 2 Cobra Jets today (if I still had it)

I didn't get to mess with cars in earnest until I was out of HS. I well remember the insurance racket. I passed on a lot of neat cars. The car I could afford, it was the insurance that was the killer. Those were the days, I remember passing on a 67 Corvette 427-425hp single carb motor, $2500 I believe, 1973. Don't recall the premium they required but do remember it was expensive.

When I got back from Nam in 1969 I bought a fuel injected 61 Corvette for $1300.00 I saved while in Nam. Went to work in a service station for $1.60/hr. traded the vette straight across for a 66 Shelby. In the small town in eastern Washington at the time was what turned out to be a rare car. A Mexican friend bought a new (1969) firebird TransAm convertible. I guess they only made like 8.
