PAC 1409X beehive. They are the new version of the very good 1409. They just start out higher with the same spring rate. If you have not checked them out, they are worth a look. We beat the crap out of them and they are really good and durable.

The nice thing about the beehive springs is that they are also lighter. PAC has the lightest design retainers as well. Light + Strong =Fun!

I am sure the 1218x is a good spring for it's application. I have not tested it. I will say this. That spring has a lower closed pressure and a much lower spring rate. I would not use something that low in any of our stuff. Remember that some of the lowlift stuff like we run. 399 lift for example requires a cam lobe that is pretty square. The higher pressure is necessary to keep the lifter on thecam. Floating valves is a bad bad deal. There is no shortcut. You need to maximize your valvetrain to make power and also to prevent breakage. The 1409 and now 1409x is designed for the abuse we give them.
