Boy, that is a shame. I have to say that was one of the nicest facilities that I've ever visited. We were just there for the Thanksgiving bracket race. Pits are 100% concrete for the racers. Sad to see it go; that was the closest track to us.

You have to be kidding me! I just went on the track website and looked at some photos. The place looks like a real race track, not some little dump. That so totally sucks!

I didn't see anything on their facebook page but I messaged them to ask if the rumors are true. We'll see what they say.

We bracket race there and were planning on running the IHRA Pro Am. We run Ennis too for the Super Chevy race and of course they host a big NHRA national event. Crandall is a 100 times nicer facility than the Motorplex. True, they don't have the corporate suites like Ennis but the concrete in the pits, the concession stand, restrooms, etc. are some of the nicest I've ever seen. Someone lost millions of dollars on this deal.

It was a very nice little track. Not sure it was big enough to hold an NHRA points race. It was fine, pretty full, for IHRA points races. It was very nice. Shame to see it go.

It is really a shame to see such a nice facility go down. Racers would get upset when tracks not half as nice as this one would get shut down. This was always one of my favorite stops on the IHRA Pro am series.
