Just got word back from the Divison 6 tech director, he says if the wheels are rated for regular use (they are) with appropriate tires they are acceptable for my car.
I'm sticking with my current cam, so I am a good converter away from putting this beast on the track and getting some numbers once it thaws! I am *that* close! I am pumped!

Awesome! Do you have an e-mail or something to share? If the question comes up in tech, a printed hard copy in the back pocket would be handy. (yeah I know they still have the final say)
Not sure if a letter from a div director would trump one from Mike Baker but hey, it's worth a try. |

I do have the email; not sure if it would work in another division or not? I'm only planning on Divisional and one Open anyway.

I'm sure those wheels have a lot more testing and engineering than some of those chyneee front drag wheels. They must have been tested with a bunch more abuse than straight line drag racing.

I agree Mark, that's why I was disappointed when the "official" answer from IHRA was no.
However, that was 2005 so maybe things have eased a bit or there has been a change of heart. Hope so..still haven't pulled them off the mustang yet. |

They are engineered for a 3500lb car, mine is just shy of 3000. I printed the email and put it in my logbook!

Good call. I`ve done the same regarding 2 Steps in Sportsman ET Racing. Corrected one local track's rule.

I took some excellent advice and have whittled everything to one project, the Comet. The Buick got parted out and the shell is being restored by a Buick fanatic.
I am working on focusing on one car, which is hard for me, but so far has results, thanks to some encouragement from fellow members. I am putting all I can into getting the Comet on the track, with the plan to upgrade things as I can afford to each offseason. Matter of fact, it's 45 outside, so I'm headed out to work on it some more today.
