Not considering the springs issue. I don't see any additional cost between a cam under the new rules and a Bullet cam for today's rule.

Consensus is to keep the rules before the Change. However, Teching a cam require tedious measurement of Duration, Overlap, and measuring the Spring Rate. Lift is fairly easy. Hence the relaxing of the rules. However, the new Rules will kill Pure Stock Racing forever ! D |

Question for you guys. How many pure stockers made a run in IHRA in 2013? You all sound like this is the end of the world. Are the indexes changing? If not use your cam you are running now.

Your thoughts are spot on. Recently when it was mentioned what a travesty it was with no production cars in the guide so they couldn't run them in pure stock, my first thought was how many cars 5 years old or less ran in pure stock in 2008? |

Considering NHRA and IHRA only now have updated current Classification Guides there will be more interest. This year there was a record number of PSers built. More already being planned for 2014.
For the uninformed the reason for coming back to PS is fun. Costs are far lower and maintenance. Lets put it this way. You do not need exotic parts to keep them alive. Plus they are the old Stocker rules before CamAGedin! D |

So my point again: why change the rule for 15 cars? If it ain't broke ... don't fix it. I know personally when our cam (with stock duration) comes out the next time the one that goes back in won't have stock lift either. We can go bracket racing and run some local heads-up DOT stuff and go much quicker for less money. Scott |

Kinda surprised they even keep an eliminator for fifteen total cars nationally and a max of eight cars, as low as four cars showing up for a race. I could not see many people wanting to run one, that is even fewer than I would have expected. You should really be thankful they have not just done away with it. IHRA is really trying.
