Glad I decided to build a regular stocker now.

This will make it a little difficult to drive a Pure Stock car to the race track, will it not?

I feel it defeats the whole intent of the class.

Probably the biggest change to stock in NHRA was the camshaft rule. History is about to repeat itself through the IHRA camshaft rule. Be careful what you wish for because it might all come true. NOW that you will have all the camshaft you can get. Guess what comes next ! AIRFLOW I really feel that many pure stock competitors might not like where this is going to go.

If the cams are the same now and the only differences that come to mind are no electric water pump, mufflers, and other very small differences why keep Pure Stock? Doesn't make sense to build or have one other than the "softer" indexes and if you're close to an IHRA track. Boy, those indexes should be able to be killed now! Maybe IHRA's way of moving a step closer to phasing the class out?
Also, and I'd have to check my current Nitro Joe stats, but how many people are actually running Pure Stock now? 10? 12? Why make such a major rule change for just a small amount of racers? I don't get it. Scott Last edited by Tar Heel; 12-18-2013 at 08:02 PM. |
