So what will be the difference now between what a Pure Stock cam is and what a "normal" Stocker runs? Sounds like to me it will be the same cam. How much do you expect it to pick up the typical combination (if there is such a thing)?

The more I've thought about this today the less of a good idea I think it is.

Agree. Might be easier for tech, but now it would just be stock eliminator with mufflers?

Yep. No electric water pumps and a couple other little issues but it's a Stock Eliminator car now.

This will make it a little difficult to drive a Pure Stock car to the race track, will it not?

Looks to me like they just killed this class. Change the cam to a "normal" stocker cam, stiffer springs. Pure stockers will be subject to the same headaches and parts breakage as regular stockers now. Except you have to retain the mufflers?

Glad I decided to build a regular stocker now.
