wow! love the 340,s and had a few of them. after a couple 340 swingers a friend told me of a 68 gts convertible for sale-b-5 with blue interior ---went to look had 88 thousand miles and all stock. not perfect but ok. choke didn,t open and found the intake heat passage plugged . cleaned it out and a new intake gasket.and regestered it and took it to ned on a sat---too my surprise it ran 13.90,s all day,,all stock w/3.23,s and street tires. driving like an idiot on the way home ,horseing around with another car--had it way over a hundred for 5+miles . stopped for fuel and checked out the tailpipe tips ,they were white as far as you could see.sadly it got sold and never saw it again---could easily piss off stock 440,s around town---now doing up a 65 barracuda 273 2bbl 4-speed for my youngest daughter to get use to drag racing--with a 340 -stock with a nos set of doug thorley headers--we will see how it runs? dave

Wink Re: Mopars Little A Body Terrors...

Just a short update. Jerry has the motor apart, boring the block .60, correct forged pistons ordered, rods look good, heads will be rebuilt, Dean has the AVS. Chet Herbert cam ordered that is very close to the 68 340 4 speed specs, should be a good street cam. Most of the other parts ordered or will be to put the car back together. Still need a fan shroud, clutch fork and windshield washer reservoir if anybody has any idea where I could find them.

Might make the 1st of the year yet! As long as the weather holds, this is going to be the priority project! Rolling around on the floor under a car at age 68, I thought my mother taught me better!! lol

I transferred the title to my old 'Cuda today. I have never had a "vanity" plate before, so I ordered one. It will say A56 340, for the extra $25 bucks, I thought what the heck!

Super nice car Curt. Glad to see you have it again and are not going to let it sit in a garage.
