I agree with Ed. I think that is the issue... I too have to put a shift chip in that is around 200-300 RPM less than my desired actual shift point. You may be getting into the high side chip before the shift chip is saturated.

I have experimented with a function generator and varied the frequency to compare chips. I found them to be fairly consistent, but I did notice the lag Ed described. And when the engine is flying upwards at a high rate of RPM rise, that lag results in several hundred RPM difference in the completion of the actual shift.

I have a 7,700 RPM shift chip in it now, and looking at the playback, it hits right at 7,950 to 8,000 RPM on the shift
