Comp has the "new" 1/2 stud rocker system for the SBC which should work just fine on the stocker engines.

A big thanks for everyone's advice. Very much appreciated.

Alan and Reggie - My Stealy heads already have 7/16 studs. Is 1/2 really needed?

The studs are 7/16" on the bottom and 1/2" on the top, no machine work necessary.

You cannot make valvetrain too stiff. The stiffer it is, the more reliable it is and the better it works. Call Tim and talk to him.
