For those who made the trip from NJ and PA, how was the traffic both up and back?

I went up early Friday morning from just north of Philly. I avoided 95N and it took my about 6.5 hours to get there, including stops.

Coming home, I left the track at 1:45 pm and got home 8 hours later because of frequent traffic jams in Massachusetts and Connecticut on 495, 90 and I-84.

My route home was 125 to 495 to 90 to 84 to 684 to the Sawmill River Parkway to 287, across the Tappan Zee, to the Garden State Parkway to the NJ Turnpike to the PA Turnpike.

I went up the same way except I took 684 the whole way and did not take the Sawmill River Parkway.

BTW, is it true that Massachusetts is the Native American word for "Traffic Jam," and that Connecticut means "He who drives under the speed limit in the left lane?"

In light night time traffic mid week going up ,made the trip in 6 1/2 using TappanZee -684.
It was 3:00pm till I packed up and left ,so I hit the heavy traffic at 495-290 and again on 90 to 84. from there it was pretty good ,but 684 was backed way up that late in the day, so it was 84 all the way to 87. ...Typical Sunday slowdowns on 87 to 287 but traffic moved fairly good, ...I made it home in 7 1/2 hours includind stops, so not too bad.

The way to the event was 5 hrs leaving a 5 AM Thursday. Route from Paterson NJ: 208 N, 287 N, 87 N, 84 E, 90 E, 495 N, 95 N believe it was 101 to the track. Would rather have taken 125.

Trip home leaving just after 1 PM 7hrs. 125 - 495 - 295 - 90 - 84 - 87 - 287- 208. Heavy traffic on 495 there appeared to be a wreck. 90 heavy traffic. 84 heavy traffic Hartford to Danbury. 87 heavy traffic for no good reason other than people wanted to drive 35 MPH.

Will be back next year. The ASRA guys convinced me to go 2 years ago and brought 100 degree weather with me. Did not go last year and it was cool. Get the wild idea to go this year and it's 100 degrees. Greg said the weather in NH is unpredictable! Think next year will bring my long johns!

Friday PM I had it as high as 3500' with 150 grains of moisture and .799 vapor pressure. Saturday PM I had a high of 3900' with 99 deg , .889 vapor pressure and 165 grains.
The only thing that kept the cars running well was the baro that was between 29.8 and 29.9 all weekend.
Track temps on Thursdays Test &Tune got as high as 155 deg. .....I saw about 140-145 on Friday.

Sounds like it wasn't too bad, anyway you look at it it's still 400+ miles. The early finish helps everybody. There is just no good way to get across Conn. The 90/84 spot has and will always be a problem as long as they leave the toll plaza there. You can avoid this by staying on 290 and taking Rt. 20 west to 84 in Sturbridge, it's a two lane road with a few stop lights but I'm sure faster than sitting in that back up on the pike.
I'd just like to say thanks to those who made the trip and supported this race, we've needed a race close to home and now we finally have a few!

Remember...casual spectators are there to be entertained, not follow racing. They like things that are fast, loud and spew flames.
