Jeff, First of all nothing is free! What we get is a tax write off if you are out of the country 330 days out of 365 days. That sounds good on the surface but what they don't tell you is that it pretty much don't mean poop. I got back an extra $2k dollars last year compared to the previous year where I worked at home and then we got back a little more this year. Bottom line is its the IRS' game and they will win every time. Trust me my first year I was a little disappointed to say the least. This is how it works. For example if you make $150k and you get a $100K write off. They tax the remaining $50k at the $150k tax bracket. So they get theirs one way or another. As far as ordering a new CJ goes I did put in an order for a '13 CJ Competition Kit but I felt bad not giving the old girl her chance to shine again. So I canceled the order at the last minute. Yeah I found a PI intake which at its best might come close to the CJ intake on the dyno. But loosing the weight was what I was after there. Yes I do have an engine being machined. I found a guy that said that he had heard of Stock Eliminator before so I took him some of the junk we had laying around from the 80's. I think I'm going to put a new cam in it, do the PI intake and maybe go with the Ed. Al heads and see where that gets us. I'm just hoping to get under the index and put some laps on it for now.

Trust me, military or not, it's not a place I would want to call home for 27 days, much less 27 months!
And in my younger years as a mechanic, I've pulled a few FE intake manifolds off and if the new aluminum intake was worth a few negative HP, it would be worth it. That iron piece is a back breaker for sure! That's good your going with your dad's old car. Keep it in the family!

Welcome home. Glad you are back. I thought you might have seen the light over there and wanted a Mopar, but then again I'm sure you are more happy than anyone to be home.
