It's simple, the Drag Pak Challenger's have been hit more times. If you ask me the 428 CJ's should be going a lot quicker than they have been. Let's do a quick comparison. On paper the engine restrictions are basically the same except for one huge detail. 58 more cubes which equals about 100 more HP. Even if you cut my calculation in half and call it an extra 50 HP that should still blow away the 6.1 Hemi. I'd take the extra 58 cubes for 100 lbs any day. Cubic Inches 370 vs. 428 = 58 more cubes Compression 12.6 vs. 12.7 = .1 more compression Intake Valve 2.100 vs. 2.085 = .015 smaller Exhaust Valve 1.600 vs. 1.605 = .005 bigger Intake Lift .602 vs. .589 = .013 smaller Exhaust Lift .569 vs. .589 = .020 bigger TB 1.75 vs. 1.75 = same Either way the blower cars have the biggest advantage with the 10.20 index. The Atco race proved that. I ran 9.32 which was 1.18 under my 10.50 index. But Bo ran 8.78 with his 10.00 index making it 1.22 under. For Englishtown he gains 2 tenths on his index and I get to remove 50 pounds. Assuming that's all he had he will have me covered by .18-.20. But hey, let's go racing. I'm looking forward to it. And if anyone needs help don't be afraid to ask. |

David , when anyone races you they bring all they have . I'm not the car to worry about it's the 5.0 with 2.9 blower thats the car to beat no matter who you are . Nice job on the numbers .
I agree with the other racers , let go race and enjoy the fact's , no AHFS , heads up off index and first to the finish line wins . A big special thanks to NHRA , Ford , GM , Mopar and PC Richards for letting us run this type of racing at NHRA races
