The only inline four barrel carbs I can remember were the Ford/Autolite inline carbs designed for Trans Am racing around 1969-70 and were mounted on a cross-boss plenum intake. The other carb was a Barry Grant Bad Man carb ( inline ) designed within the last 10 years or so. Seen pictures but never seen one on an engine.

Ford used them years ago --also Autolite carbs I believe kinda look like a downdraft Weber or Dellorto carb---What they are saying is that you hafta use the run of the mill Holley/Carter/Rochester type carb no hybrids or exotics AND it has to be on the accepted list too--- go to the NHRA site of accepted carbs starts on page 105 several pages long look for the specific class you are inquiring about it will give you specific info for that class in super stock or comp categories

Cool Re: Question about ss/modified carbs

We used two of the Autolite inlines on our C/MP Boss 302 in 1970. Made our own top plate for the intake. Did I give my age away?
