I am ok with the protest procedure in general, I am wondering if a clarification from NHRA is in order on the timeliness. If this is the standard, I could see the guys improving their odds by going after some of the killer repeat winners with a last minute protest. As much as this could improve the chances for rest of us I believe there should be some standard for the time allowed to get the teardown done and make first round. Maybe this is actually a positive. I mean, anytime we have any delay, NHRA knocks out the class run offs to save time, I bet it is in their playbook. Maybe the tech official that squeezed in the 5 hour piston pull should be put in charge of the sportsman class schedule! At least we would get to run it then!
