Moose,

The car was a 1963 Savoy sedan and I bought off a guy that worked at a gas station. I had just gotten out of the Army and was starting college, I raced it for about a year and sold it to a guy in Nashville Tn with all the paperwork. It was white with red interior and was a 425 hp car.

Unfortunately, I lost all pictures of the car while moving around the world.

My current car is a 1964 Savoy that was converted at the dealership into a max wedge and was raced around central Texas and in the AHRA, I bought it after it was stripped and sat out behind a barn.

I did see one just like this once upon a time (circa 1982 WCS points meet at Englishtown), painted all-white, w/Carter AFB carbs on cross ram intake manifold instead of the more common Holleys.

Al "The Lawman" Ekstrand supposedly raced a 1960 Plymouth besides the 60 Dodge that he ran. Does anyone have a pic of him racing a 60 Plymouth? Thanks

Picture taken in the staging lanes @ Island Dragway circa 64-5. That's Passaic NJ's Al Olster's (pre One Step Beyond) Spit-Fire Max wedge./J&J Balancing-Paterson NJ....
This was badass in our day. Check the tow tabs and later he had a (gasp)..double axle trailer..a new one! Notice the absence of chrome trim strip on the fenders,assume it was now in the latest Aluminum livery,front end..
When he would he fire up the car in his garage on VanHouten Ave..I would be 14 and In My dad's Chevron station down the street..get on my bike pedal my *** up Main ave.. and just stare...and listen.
On many Sunday morning's he would come in to the station to fill up on the way to ..? ..and I still remember him telling me ..every time not to touch the fenders. :}
