Hi everybody, like the title says I'm going 10.90 racing with a 3 speed (Turbo 400). I wanted to ask where might you start with timers and shifts if you were to do the same. I haven't used the throttle stop yet. Here is what I have, if it helps. 3500lb car, 540 BBC, 700hp @ flywheel, shfting on time, #1stop air. I haven't had a max et pass yet, so far 10.40's at 128 mph. I think it will go 10.20's???
One of my concerns is once I figure out the relation of shift rpm converted to time how does the TS affect that because now I'm slowing down the time it will take to reach the rpm. Make sense? Or am I simply over thinking that part. Any and all help is appreciated. |

I can't say I'm a expert on this but I did run a C-4 my first year and struggled a little bit with consistency. I tried my set up several different ways and could never get it where I was satisfied and switched to a powerglide. I will say the best results I got with the 3 speed were 1-2 shift on the stop and 2-3 shift down track both on time. Good luck hope this helps a little.

Hello
I'm definetly no expert. But I do run a turbo 400 in a 3200 lb S/ST / HR car. I personly shift the 1 2 shift on time 1.00 second out. (on the stop) The 2 3 shift, is shifted at 6800 RPM. I've only been stop racing for a couple years, so again I'm no expert. Cal HR 1177 |
