I thought Norwalk was a Full Throttle event.

Did this happen at the Lucas Oil in Norwalk from Mid-May?

I'll never have a car with a sponsors name on it but would do the smae if I did. It's a slap in the face to your sponsor to cover up what he's paid to have displayed. Minimum would be a phone call to get their permission.

I know a local guy who still takes his small sponsorship even though he hasn't raced in 2 years. The Sponsor is a large company that really supports Drag Racing so they don't keep close tabs on who they are helping and isn't aware of the situation. I hope Karma pays this guy a visit.

Thumbs down Re: Sponsor Names

That's a cryin' shame. Talk about Full Throttle leaving a "bad taste" with racer, his family, friends and others! It actually discourages growth of the sport.

My understanding of Vegas Fuel and NHRA, was that Max was grandfathered in. Letting him run his companies name on his car. He was sponsored by them in the Poweraide era.

Hope they never get one of those "other" brands of duct tape to sponsor anything, or I'm in trouble! 'Course everyone knows that when you need duct tape, "Get the Duck To Do It!"

Keith you are correct about Max but this is not his car, he helps out with it. Yes it was a Full Throttle event that the sports man racers attended but Lucas Oil and the sportsman pay their way @ these events not Full Throttle. What is the difference that @ the Mac tools U.S Nationals you have a Craftmans decal on your car or Acne energy drink decal. Full Throttle is pro and Lucas Oil is sportsman. We are separated at the event and should be kept separate with our sponcers, whoever they may be. NHRA signed up Dollar General for the Topeka national. Did that mean you could not have a K-Mart decal on your race car?

That was just the agreement in the contract between NHRA and Coke-Cola. The other sponsors negotiated all their contracts also.(with racers and Santioning bodies) It's just business.

I'm not saying its good or bad. It's just business.
