Thanks, Claude!
Ralph, all I can say is it is what
it is. The Skillmans needed to take a week off to repair motors and Bo Kenney was in the middle of a hectic business schedule. Therefore, we found out we would only have three cars when we got to Richmond.
The crowd enjoyed the show and were constantly around the cars in the pits. Butner and Holbrook raced as hard as they would at any other event and Jimmy Ronzello continued his tradition of making quarter-mile runs at an eighth-mile event. (LOL!)
If folks knew the nightmare endured by Butner to win the race, they'd appreciate it a bunch more.
We're certainly not giving up on the program. It's a new deal and it will take time to grow. We've made huge gains for the Chryslers, (thanks to Dale Aldo and Jeff Teuton), which we'll be able to announce very shortly.
Roger Richards captured the shot below of the 9 AM Saturday qualifying session, (added because of Friday rain), and it explains why, as far as the fans were concerned, three cars was just fine.
