Thanks for the great reporting and the pictures too, Jack! A lot of history at E-town that needs to be experienced at least once in a life-time. Sure hope to be able to be there next year.

Lew

Jack, was the spectator turn-out as bad as it looks in the photos here and on the TV over the week-end? There were lots of empty seat metal showing during the ESPN qualifying and elimination shows. You know that they were broadcasting "PRO" NHRA and from the camera position there were many empty seats as they showed the starting line and down track.

Chris - In some earlier posts -Saturday & Sunday I put some pictures of the stands - they were pretty full during the Pro's .Thurday and Friday were a little light ..........

Hey Jack,
You caught the back of my friend and I at E Town in a couple of your photos. I am wearing the ClassRacer shirt and my friend Larry is sporting the ASRA 'colors'. Had a great time, able to watch most of Stk, SS. I did notice the attendance was down all weekend.. Friday qualifying 2nd round there was an announcement to come down to the reserve seats and watch the qualifying! Everyone welcome and its FREE! I think they wanted to show a full bleacher for TV coverage. Just my .02cents worth.

Yes , I heard that same announcement -- not sure if you're right about the TV thing or they ( the NHRA ) were just giving folks a free taste - either way it was a good thing to be able to sit in reserved seats for free .Whats the saying about a gift horse ? ?

Good to see everyone wearing their ' colors ' ...........

The stands did look a little light on TV from what I could see but, also remember the Dover NASCAR Race was this weekend also and not sure if anyone watched the coverage from their on Sunday but, LOTS of empty seats to the point that started putting sponsor tarps over the seats they didn't sell. I remember going to Dover in the early 2000's when they had just added the new seating and it was packed 120,000 plus! So it's just not NHRA not selling seats...

Maybe with the addition of Epping to the schedule they will move E-Town off of that weekend
