It's a special event, there are no round by round season championship points being awarded. The buyback formula was to create the funds necessary to justify the $5K guaranteed payout. IHRA probably would have gotten rid of the buybacks if 100+ cars showed up for these races but they don't. People should be happy they have the option of running this event. If you hate buybacks (as do I), then either don't run the event, don't buy back, or better yet let your hatred for buybacks go for one weekend and have fun with it.

Very well said! If there are more than 64 cars in the first round, there won't be any need for a "re-entry" round.
