There is a problem with that way that NHRA does their work, and that is why Stock is nothing more then a modified production class on 9" tires.
Stock was supposed to be "STOCK", not some bastardized cars being called stock. As racers, we allowed NHRA to plow over the class without any reguard to how true meaning of the competition of "Stock". Allowing all the after market parts was a mistake in the very beginning which NHRA turned into a money maker for them selfs as well as an excuse not to have to do their jobs which includes measurements which are the heart beat of tear downs.

Casey you can't blame NHRA for allowing the "superseded" parts for every part a crybaby racer begged them for it.
You can find fault with NHRA for not enforcing the rules.

How can they automatically add Hp to a combination from a trigger of the AHFS with out tearing down the car to see if it was even legal or not. NOT fair to the other people running the same combo!! NHRA you really need to think about what your doing to these classes!! Maybe you already have and this is the future.

I was under the impresson that running 1.20 under got you tore down automatically. I am pretty sure this is standard procedures here in D3 with Travis and his crew. But that might have been last years rule, what was I thinking?

I did not see any teardowns at Phoenix. But NHRA was watching heads up run of Wann and Sorenson a tech guy watching each car. Hopefullly there will be some teardowns in Belle Rose this weekend and both Vegas races coming up. There should be some fast runs at both of these races so everybody have your gaskets sets ready.

Are you saying the cars that went fast enough at the Gators to trigger the AHFS immediate horsepower did NOT get tore down?

NHRA should force a certain percentage of racers to tear down at all National events, this would bring out the true racers in the S/SS classes. That is what you are paying for with your membership and entry fee's. By NHRA not doing their job, it allows racers to slide whether their cars are legal or not. It used to be if you won the race, you had to tear down to get the purse, now it's just grab the trophy and go on your way.

Actually, that creates more problems than it solves. What if the winner in Stock or Super Stock doesn't pass??? Now you have all of the guys he put out in eliminations raising a huge stink. If they are gonna be checked, it needs to be done before eliminations. Once first round starts, the time for checking is over, with the exception of fuel, weight and visual checks at the scales.

Besides, I think the tech guys have a pretty good idea who the "shady" characters are. When I won SS in Atlanta, they asked the RU if he wanted me to tear down. Answer was no.
