Getting back to the subject of this thread.....
I don't think anybody would argue about the coolness of the new camaro....just as the mustang and DP are.....it's just the factors.....these cars are a great example of a stocker....all the right stuff....and brand new....what's not to like.....they even smell new...they're just so powerful....it should be interesting to see what the factors are..... If they were by themselves....everybody would be doing cartwheels about them.... Lets see what happens...... Rock..... |

Rock, with all due respect, there is nothing stock about any of these new factory hot rods. They were built out of parts books and other than the body have very little to do with what is sold to the public.

Right. I don't think there will be a separate eliminator however.

![]() A,B,C and D/FX Isn't that really what they are???? Factory experimental??? Marketing or Performance based, they are still an experiment for the auto makers. Even at that the question remains..... "Do they really fit the criteria for any kind of factory produced, "Stock" automobile??? Welcome to the "new math" where 2 + 2 = 5

There are 2 sides to the story regarding "Stock" eliminator, those with older cars that "grew up" in stock eliminator, and those that embrace the new cars.
Bottom line, times change....either you stay up with the times or get left behind. NHRA has specific rules that allowed the manufacturers to build the new cars for stock. They are legal Glendora approved it . Now, as far as stock goes, I can cite a couple of things that you stock vets can't argue with; Can you fit a 9x30 tire on a 67 nova for example, without modifications that are not permitted under the rules? NO Did your cars come from the factory with hoods that have a 1" gap at the back? NO If you disagree with these 2 points, I can get really serious about your beloved older stockers. See you at the races, Wayne Kerr |

I did'nt read all 14 pages just skimmed through it. My observation.
1) It's about time Chevy! 2) It's not how many COPO they sale. It's about how many v-6 stripped down models they will now sale at the dealer. Remember "Win on Sunday sale on Monday" 3) I agree they should be in their own classification in Stock Eliminator. IHRA does that now. 4) Stock Eliminator is Still Bracket racing as long as Shoe Polish is Allowed. If you don't want it called that run it like COMP !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chip |
