From the threads on here, seems like a lot of races this week-end. Might lessen the number of cars at VMP.

I still think this race is the best bang for your buck....and it will be the last IHRA race of the season....

Butch,
Car count will be good at VMP. I guess 400. People going to the N races probably would'nt come to VMP if it was on an off weekend. |

One of the things we heard after the one at MIR was "I didn't know about it". The VMP race has been on a Sticky on this forum since the beginning of August, and been on IHRA all year. $200 entry for $5,000 + national event contingency. Win that race, and you have a free entry into the $10,000 +contingency Tournament of Champions, and the whole weekend is Sportsmen only.
Like the guy on radio says, "It's the biggest no-brainer in the history of the universe." Sucks that there's so many races scheduled on the same weekend. All of them are just costing each other entries. While IHRA always takes good care of the show, as an added bonus, VMP recently hired Alan Carpenter as track manager. I think he's always done a great job, wherever he's been.

First round of qualifying starts at 10:30 am Friday so you might want to there a little earlier if you are racing.

You'll be looking for the I-85 South interchange, Exit 51, just south of Petersburg. The exit for VMP on I-85 South is Exit 63A, US 1, (it's well marked) then stay straight on Boydton Plank Road for about 4 miles and the track is on the right. Travel safe! See you on Friday morning! Lew
