Just to let everyone know that I have started communication with Pure Stock association from Michigan, on starting a new class for Muscle Car 1975 and newer(lots of Camaro Iroc's) should have something for the 2012 season. This will be a great entry for someone wanting to race at an affordable class. I know that many in the upper classes have small fortunes in their cars but we will try to keep it affordable by having et or bracket racing within a specific time. ex; 1983 Monte Carlo ss et 15.90 to 15.50 in complete stock form. Hopefully this will catch on. This would be a great grassroots program to help people move up to stock eliminator or just stay in this class and have fun. Just for the fun of it I was talking to many people in the stands at Indy during stock qualifying(the ones like me who didn't mind melting in the heat, Toby Lang is still the man, after recording hours upon hours in the grand stand, ok I digress, many would be racer just can't afford racing in stock and think they need a fortune to be competitive. As we know it doesn't, just become good friends with a stock Guru like Billy Nee's or Mark Yaccavone and voila you're racing. For the lowly grunts or plebe like myself Showroom stock looks like a homerun. I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and forward to Div 1 $100.00 to the winner and $50.00 to the runner up for the Dutch Classic. You never know, could be the best thing since slice bread and it's what our sport needs(new Cars). Claude Ruel

Claude I like the idea. I am not a racer so I don't know all the logistics. Do they have certain tech guys for specific combos? Say some for upper classes then middle then the bottom. Perhaps go over all the class combos and see which ones are being run then maybe if not run enough change the combo yo make more appealing. Put the dp's,mustangs, and the new camaro by themselves. Put in showroom classes for 8,6,4 and induction class for turbo and supercharged with tight rules within stock. Try at the divisional level to see if it works. The friday night street at maple grove does well some of them kids would love to race on Sundays. Perhaps nhra needs to lover the entrance fees, $300 with 50 cars isn't as good as 100a cars at 180. Look at the fields at the dutch enough said.
