Myron, did that back in the day. In 1973 my daily driver was a 66 Corvair Cvt that I bought from Div 2 Stock standout and good friend Bill Robinson for $100. Going into Labor Day weekend, I knew the only way I could win NHRA Division 2 again was to win the eliminator at the last race (Gainesville) and set both ends of a different class record. So, I flat towed the coupe to Indy and when I returned I swapped drivetrains out in the street. I flat towed the Cvt to Gainesville, set both ends of the Y/S record (now W/S) but did not win the race. I lost the 73 Championship to Bobby Zlatkin by 100 points (1 round win).
