In addition to overall combination, some automatics are more efficent than others. In my bracket car, with a mild 428FE Ford engine, and a fairly good C6 (low drag Torrington bearings thru out, Art Carr trans brake, 8" converter etc) the best the car went with the C6 was 10.55ET @126 MPH. With no other changes, other than replacing the C6 with a 4 speed Jerico & McLeod Soft Lok clutch, the car has gone a best of 10.03@132mph.

Just to show how wide a range this question encompasses I race the same track as Rory and went the opposite direction, 14.00 with a stick and 12.80 with a auto. It all depends on the combination.

ET will vary because there are so many variables. But MPH should almost always be better with a stick.
Remember, MPH is based off HP. ET is everything else that is involved with getting you from point A to point B.
