I remember that car when Jimmy Spell had it. I believe he used to haul it in a converted horse trailer. Used to have a license plate on it that said "We Bad"

Here are a few of the photos I promised. I believe the 1st photo is INDY of 1984. The second two are obviously from the fire in 1985. It literally made us sick to look at them again.

Oh man.. Emmons... that's HORRIBLE

I bought my car in September, 1993. Here's my BelAir in 1998. Just a street car, with a pretty radically cammed 409HP 409 ( was a factory 6 cylinder car )

Jimmy, as I recall, took the drive train (Bobby Warren Horsepower) out of that car and put it in a blue late model Camaro. He could go real fast in qualifying by sliding the clutch a lot but couldn't cut a light. Rumor was that he changed the clutch setup for eliminations, slowed down and usually lost with a bad light. I never watched close enough to verify it but he was rarely seen in the later rounds.

Jimmy was unique and entertaining to talk to. I remember one year at Englishtown we ran the first round in the dark. I drew Joe Scott in round one. Jimmy told me I'd catch him in high gear and to pump the gas on him and lead him through the finish line. I've always been one to run my own race but in the end that's exactly what happened. I saw him at the scales after the run and he said "I told you that's what would happen. I knew it was you when I heard you pumping the gas."
Anyone know where he is now???
