X2 to Ed Carpenter, and Jim R., and older racer.
I also like the variety of vehicles being raced, plus I think it's cool that even my fwd V6 runs as quick (within the rules), as V8's did in past years in this class!

Stock appearance
Wheelies! Given a book and being told to follow it. Some follow to the letter, others read between the lines a little better. Thinking outside the box. I like the report card analogy! Please Lord, just one more hundredth! The ability to be a "nobody" and go out and set a national record. The ability to be a "nobody" and go out and win a national event. And speaking of "nobodies" take a look at our history. Look at some of the names that come from Stock & Super Stock. It's good company!

Then nobody can guess my next thing, high winding stick cars. The variety of brands and odd combos. Mike Taylor 3601 |

Thats right theres nothing better than hearing a high winding small block turning some R.P.M. I love those stick cars pulling second gear in the air. Also the stock apperances.

Ed, I should have qualified with: " with fans and racer who have a general knowledge of Drag racing enjoy Stock& $uper $tock. The rest are just there for the Clowns and Circus show I'm sorry to say. I remember during the 70's 80's and even the 90's that everybody stayed in the stands all day for all Class Eliminators. I feel like a dinosaur seeing everyone rushing out of the bleechers and missing the best racing. For me there isn't anything better than making new friends at the track and watching these incredible cars. Everything from VW to Cadillac behemoths. I love seeing the inventive skills, the ingenuity that some racer wil go, to achive their goals, nothing like seeing someone enter a PT Cruiser at Indy a couple of years ago only to qualify number one in the stock field. Great to meet people like Woodro Josey, Bobby Warren, The Jacksons, Billy Nees, Tony Nancy,John Barkley, Don "worm" Elgin, The Teuton Family, and let's no forget Ed who doesn't hide his colors or his dedicaton to AMC,The Cantucci Family and so many others, that's why I love stock and super stock, a great family.Claude

Number 1: the awesome people who participate and watch!
Number 2: a weekly ultimate car show, stocked with work horses rather than trailer queens Number 3: the creativity racers bring to the table, whether it's expressed through the unique combinations, the amazing paint jobs and sometimes even through the pit vehicles or the towing equipment - there are some very creative folks out there! |
