There is never to much power.... there might be too little traction or you are unable to apply the power correctly.
Cool ride!

Wink Re: Too much power on the street???

I understand that theres a bunch of guys coming hard after Larry and his Nova for this years' Drag Week title, and to knock off the 3 time champ. A ton of money being spent for that honor,, but Larry will always be the first,,,just like Bobby D. was a decade ago,,even though these are 2 completely different animals. A couple nice guys that broke a couple barriers.

For what it's worth ... I just sold my '95 Impala SS that made 375rwhp NA and 527rwhp on a 175 shot. It ran high 11s NA and high 10s on nitrous at 4,100 lbs. I didn't own a trailer and it had a TH400 with a 2.75 low gear and a 4.10 rear. In my humble opinion it was really too much power for the street. It would instantly break the tires loose on command and you really had to pay attention to it to keep from ending up around a telephone pole. It was almost not fun because you really had to pay attention to it.

Thanks for all the replies. I think Adger has stated it best though. It's not too much power, but not enough traction.

My idea is to take a 440 MoPar and turbo it and run on the street as a toy. With the big cubes and a turbo, too much power would become an issue I think.
