Hi all – Saturday’s race got down to 6 cars before it was called due to poor track conditions at about 10pm. Although I have to say, it was a spectacular day of racing with 23 cars, sunny skies and an excellent track for most of the day. This was exceptionally impressive given the area has had over a week of rain and the ground has never been more wet. (That also explains why the track deteriorated once the sun went down).
Sunday’s race never even got started due to rain that began around 8am and carried on all morning. At 1pm, the day was called. Here’s the plan: We will finish Saturday’s race on June 4 at Empire Dragway during the regular TNTSS qualifying sessions. Empire is also a 1/4 mile track so this is the next best option. (Finishing it at Cayuga would mean Labour Day weekend and with the ROC already planned for that weekend on top of the two regular TNTSS event, that just isn’t a feasible option...not to mention it is over 3 months away.) As for Sunday’s race, a review of the schedule of available dates that don’t conflict with national/divisional races along with the schedule at Cayuga has come up dry. As a result, we will NOT be re-scheduling Sunday’s race. It will simply be removed from the schedule. For points purposes, we will now use the best 4 of 5 on the Canadian side. Anyone who paid for Sunday (there were 3) will have their entry fee carried over to the next race they attend. See everyone in 2 weeks for a Friday at DTRP and a Saturday at Empire! Any questions – shout!
