What does it run in the 1/4? ...Not that it matters. You don't happen to know what the gear ratio is? Traction Lok? Thanks, bud

I'm as green as your Dart - with envy! Nice choice of rides there! I drive an '01 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 360 c.i. I only drive 7 miles to and from work, so gas $$ is not a major concern. I get about 9 in town and 12 on the road. :-( PO towed a small 5th wheel with it quite a bit, so the tranny needed a rebuild at 75K, but other than that it has been rock solid. Just now starting to show a little rust after 10+ Northern Indiana winters. I've been thinking of upgrading to a new RAM, but this one is paid for and runs great. It's not always this dirty...lol!

JRyan,
My Durango. Didn't touch it. It has the factory tow package, (most Hemis do), and four wheel disc brakes. Just used a good equalizer hitch, good electric brakes, sway control, gassed it up and went. I pull a Hemi 65 Coronet that weighs 3905 with me, on a lightweight open trailer. I usually take a small tool box, a generator, and a basket with oil/stop leak, stuff like that. Also a cooler, you know, the regular stuff. We live in the mountains of Western Pennsylvania, so there is a lof of mountains to go up, go down. It stops, drives, and handles like a dream. It will pull up these mountains 70 mph, gets good mileage....it is probably the best little tow vehicle I've ever had. I'd buy another one in heartbeat. |

LOL! I really messed up that post. It's a GS model, (not an LS), with the 190 hp 4.6 281. I think it was rated at 260 ft/lbs, as well. The LS model had a 210 hp version available at the end of the '95 run. The Police Interceptor package was actually a 250 hp combo. The rear end is the standard 3.08 although there was a factory 3.27 gear available. Mine has no TractionLok but I race with the AOD disengaged to make sure the car actually slows down when I lift!
The GrandMa, as my friends affectionately call it, has won slightly less than fifty percent of the Corvette's total. The only interesting piece on the car is the original factory aluminum intake manifold which was only available on the first production run of the '95s. I still have kids with 4.6 Mustangs come up to me at the track and ask if I made the manifold myself! Best pass ever was 16.43/84.78 in -300 feet air but I run it with a loaded trunk and a full tank of gas so it can't spin even if it's on a frozen lake. Therefore, it's usually around 17.20 or so. I use Goodyear Eagle IIIs at 18 lbs which work well, too. Heck, a full gas tank adds 147 lbs! |

Daily driver now? Red 91 Chevy Silverado X cab pickup that I bought 12 years ago from Chuck Norton. Best money I ever spent on a toy. It has 210,000 miles on it, still runs, stops, looks and drives great. Tow vehicle is a 90 GMC Suburban 2500, 454, 400 trans, loaded, drives and looks great. Tows an open trailer and a Chevelle like its not there. The truck takes me five miles to the Covina Metrolink station where I catch the first morning train to downtown Los Angeles to work. I can't stand driving hardly at all anymore. Drives me nuts.('>')
