Yea Ed, Jimmy and car were full of misshaps. One time his plexiglass windshield broke apart and almost took his head off, then there was the first time he put nitrous on the car and almost crashed from the wheelie. What once was a nice Hemi Super Stocker was reduced to scrap in just a couple of years.

Sonny McCoy was a true Hampton ICON. Always had a kind word, especially if you made him money that day. RIP my friend

Jimmy and I were the best of friends, the day that the windshield broke, I told convinced him to wear a full face helmet before he made that pass, it probably saved his a@@. The car went over 140 MPH for the first time and we found out that the windshield was the weak link. Not many people know that we switched motors from a 440 to a 505 and added 200 shot of nitrious. We went to Atco with the car to test, it was cold out so the nitrious wouldn't work out of the gate, so he hit it about 300' out, put the car into a wheel stand at half track. The anouncer said that he didn't know what we were doing, but to please stop on account of safety. Those were the days!
