I would stay from the LA Totally Awesome. It did indeed do a good job of cleaning my trailer, but it also took some of the finish with it. A couple coats of wax later, the trailer isn't to bad and still looks good but the finish isn't quite the same. The stuff made washing the trailer easy but I'll never use it again.

"SIMPLE GREEN" works good and is safe to use. I use it on my Harley and trailer. Works great for removing brake dust from my Corvette wheels and Harley wheels. Use it full strength or mix with water.

If you have an aluminum trailer, I would not use Simple Green... it can cause etching and corrosion on exposed aluminum... we have been warned to never use it on our airplane by airplane mechanics for years because of this issue. For steel, it works great.

Nope, never mind, the next post said I can use it on my ex-wife's plane
LOL.....It has not harmed or pitted the Alum. Harley wheels and its over 6 years I have been using it. Your right though I wouldnt use it or anything else on an airplane unless it was recommended. .

RV 455 works really good to get the streaks off then wax it and they are easier to keep off with regular washing. It seems to me most of my streaking problems were caused by the roof on the trailer getting what I describe as corroded on the suface. I washed the top of mine with Propar, its usually sold at Semi dealers to clean aluminum semi trailers. Just mix a little with HOT water spray it on with a garden sprayer it will turn white after a couple of minutes then wash it off and the roof looks like new again. It will also make the aluminum trim look like new too and so far has not harmed my paint in any way. BUT DO NOT get it on chrome or it will ruin it. Since I washed my roof last spring I have had very little streaking to deal with.

Are the aluminum Harley wheels natural, or chromed???? The problem with the airplane is that the Simple Green ( and similar degreasers/cleaners) can leach into interior spaces in the airframe and cause corosion from the inside. Probably not a problem on a wheel that gets rinsed right away.....
