Plus, the time is a big factor and my physical and health conditions prevent me from doing what I once did - did you ever think of that?

I relish the idea of beating the crap out of you whinners, who think less of me, because I can not do, what I once did with my hands, but I still can do with my mind

Enough said
So what's wrong with letting someone do some of the work, like the fuel valve and weight
box in your garage with you supervising the work.I'm sorry to hear you can't physically do some of it yourself but wouldn't you feel more involved by supervising the finish work yourself?
I had an industrial accident in 1998 that left me with a broken L-5 vertebrae,my neurogolist told me I'd never be able to pick up more that 10-20 lbs.I hate when someone tells me I can't do something.I can pick up way more than that now.I'll be 66 next month and realise I don't have the stamina I used to have, but I'll be damned if I going to roll over and vegatate away.
Besides, you're only one of the large bunch who have these new cars. There's some out there who are healthy enough to do their cars, but they're either just shell out the money cause they can or don't have the skills to do the work and that's fine.My point is years ago the average S/SS racer didn't farm their cars out, they built them themselves. That is not the case anymore.

You are exactly right "years ago"

I would never assume to be able to supervise someone like Phil Mandella or any other craftsman

Why argue - I am not going to roll over and vegatate away as you put it

In case you have not noticed - I grew my replacement - and have not given up yet

He has college to finish right now

As a matter of fact I am sure I am still taking bigger risks than you ever have

I do not need to make excuses to someone like you who is so superior

Ah well I guess you're going to join the class of elite snobs who can't take criticism.Good luck with your self proclaimed overpriced lump of metal and glass.Hope it didn't cut into your retirement nest egg to much. You can always make a car show queen out of it when the bug wears off
And if you bothered to really read and absorb what I posted you'll see I didn't say for you to have built the whole car.Just for you to do the final finishing touches.Your silly last sentence requires no consideration.
As far as risks,I can't imagine what that means. But if you indeed did risk retirement money into this bottomless pit then lots of luck.

Thumbs up Re: Another Drag Pak joins the Ramchargers Legacy

Back to the topic:

Is this the Dave Thomas from Wendys??

J/K! Dave, Good to see you back in a mopar! I can honestly say that with this new batch of Challengers, the factory is making it very hard to hate this late model stuff. Andys Dad, love the color and graphics, and the Ramcharger cars, When Peter Ash had it as his Avatar, my eyes nearly fell out squinting to see it !!

GOOD LUCK DAVE and hope you have the same success with the Challenger that you have with the 'vette!

Please don't include me, (plus the many other DP owner's that actually work on and build their own cars) in your class of "elite snobs who can't take criticism." Yes, the combo's are under factored, but PLEASE give it a rest. Some of us hands on DP builder's are actually getting sick of your BS.

PS. Had a couple of brandy's after dinner tonight .
