You would think....

But you had better have your 9" Ford rear in an iron case, when installed in your Mustang. Right?

They let the Mustangs run powerglides so I guess anything is possible.

It's a Ford-O-Matic they had a big deal as this was something new in 1959 my dad bought one with a 292 V-8 you could walk faster to 30 mph than it. And as I remeber the 2-speed in the Chrysler products were Powerfilte's

I am curios if any one has worked on one of these transmissions from either the DP or the Mustang? Are they really different from the powerglide or are they using the majority of powerglide parts. If you order a converter is it a powerglide converter that just happens to fit these trannys?

And Robert Pond and Kenny Miele had to remove the rear end from their cars.

What happened to the days of working on your car?

Please ED, be nice to fellow racers because there are so few us that still love the sport of drag racing.

Don't any of these new car owners do ANY of the assembly work on these HP wonder cars?
Well I do know of one DP car that is complete and ready to test that was completely built
by a real master technician in a two car garage.***** even I put in my own fuel check valve,
two step and other parts.I even put the engine and trans after rebuilds in my driveway and I'm no mechanical wizard. That's the satisfaction I get of running a stocker, not reaching into my bank account and getting a cookie cutter stocker. But I guess to each his own.
David, the" so few us that still love the sport of drag racing" is getting to be a minority.I don't think they would take exception to my remarks. And if they do then so be it.
