Difference between Stock and Super Stock is basically allowing a little more freedom in modifying your vehicle between both categories. Super Stock will allow you to have a more intense building of your motor such as aftermarket aluminum rod, different crankshaft, more compression that the original motor came with, better intake but must retain the original carb. You're allowed to have a better rear suspension(4 link is the norm with shortening of the rear end and the use of wheel tubs to allow for bigger and wider tires) all these modification aren't allowed in stock eliminator. Stock most appear to be stock and are allowed only certain modifications such as blueprinting of the engine and transmission, rear end must stay within the factory specs. I hope this helps. What rulebook did you get that out of? Those are okay in the modified S/S classes but definitely NOT in regular S/S or SS/GT.

The short version is that a Stocker is limited by 9" wide slicks, un-modified body including wheel tubs, no trans brakes.
As for the engine difference, a Stocker is limited to stock lift cam with stock type lifter for that engine and stock rockers too, where as a Super Stocker has use of any valve train, generally radical roller cams with billet rocker systems. The Stocker is supposed to use factory "un-ported" heads and intake manifold where the SS get highly massaged heads and any intake, but they both have to use the factory carb for that combination. Whatever differences there are now won't be there in 4-5 years the way the rules are being changed and ignored.
