No matter when they do the tribute, the time they start the finals isn't going to change any.
Maybe you would rather have the fans sit there for a half an hour with nothing going on. Or better yet, maybe Sports Magic could shoot t-shirts into the crowd or see who can guzzle a can of Full Throttle the quickest. ![]() -Toby |

I thought Ed F was referring to hot lapping sportsman cars instead of just downtime...getting a little fan exposure before they clear out....maybe I misread it?

That's pretty much it Randall.Last year at Maple Grove I guess Graham and company wanted to go home so they ran us continuously till the end.Didn't seem like anyone was agitated by that.

Please people I'm sure that Ed can defend himself and doesn't need my help to come to his rescue but come on, we don't need to sit through all that pro bono publico(latin: for the public good) in the finals. Please do it right and do it first thing before eliminations or do it on Saturday. CR

Didn't it rain at Maple Grove last year? And weren't the majority of sportsman eliminations run after the pro classes completed their finals? Of course they're going to run you continuously, what else do they have to run?
Ed's original post in this thread was him complaining about how they were down to all the finals and instead of running the sportsman finals, they're running an electric fuel car race. This is while Ed is listening to the race at home via the audiocast. We already have two posts by people who were THERE in the stands watching and they said they ENJOYED the entertainment. One of these posters is a sportsman racer himself. I stated that no matter what they do with the down time in between the semi's and finals, the start time for the finals isn't going to change. They have been doing things like this before the finals for years and just now it's a problem? I know if I had a heads-up race in the final (yes, it does happen sometimes.) I would like some time to get ready for it and not be told that I have to get up there right now or they are going to run the final without me. -Toby |

This is it for me.
First off you all choose to have tunnel vision on what you read.I also posted about the endless procession of first hot rods, then gassers and then old fuel cars. They drove the fuelers onto and lined them up on the track. That took the most time. This was only my opinion. And I'm sticking to it.
