Default Re: The new BIR payout

The key in all of this is HOW TO get 33 cars, when in the past several years the class was from 16 to 24 or so..........that's a lot of cars to pick up. Impossible---no.

The "Box" is an ok idea, if ALL participate. But if that's the case, why not just make the entry fee higher?!?!

Maybe if a couple Series sponsors could be found it might make things sweeter yet.

If all else fails, the BIR bracket program looks pretty darn good in 2011! $2000 Win/$1200 R-U after the Super Pro/Pro run off on a $60 entry fee.

Travis, your very right about car count, the racers have to make an effort to show up to get a better payout, forget about the USA payout of old, that was when there was advertizing sold and silent auctions to raise the extra cash, I don't see much activity with that now. I think the entry fee is good, I would rather pay that than $150 to go to a divisional and win 4 rounds to win very little. I think BIR takes 20% and I see nothing wrong with that.Thats a big track to take care of. Ron, what the hell is it going to take to make you happy? Tell us, and we'll do our best to make you happy.

Travis and Ron here is your payout solution, drag your cars all 3-4 of them to fargo, rent the track for 400.00 and then pay 100.00 each and you can have winner 200.00 r/u 100.00 and
semi finalists 50.00, thats 100 percent payout and you guys will be (Happy) for a change,
then you can do a group hug and ask where else your going to drive to to race. Oh i forgot the track rental, and fuel and 300k in hauler and cars but just absorb it and smile!!! Feel the love!!!!! Flame on boys!!!!!!!!

Now you see Travis, it pays more to bracket race your car than run it in Stk/ SS so come on over and run with us lowly racers.

Ron--I don't get your attitude, but whatever. I'm just trying to make this sport better than what it has been. I just have a different opinion on how to do it. Right, Wrong, or Indifferent I'm not going to change.

I plan on it Mike. The Chevelle is almost all freshened and ready to go.

Cool Re: The new BIR payout

Didnt know I was unhappy. Just saying how it was before. Did you know I was at BIR the whole Haunted Hey Ride weekend Helping out. Sitting with the owners Fri and Sat nite trying to save S & SS, Saying that there should be a group of people to rep the classes? Now you say I should go to Fargo to race. No, I didnt save the world but I tried. Where were you? Think Im against this? No, just want it right for everyone. Dont want me there? Thats OK too.

Please, (Travis) first stop and think about this, we are in the most geographically challenged area
for drag racing in the country for the number of tracks in close proximity, second this is a
nationwide forum and the only people complaining about the payout at combo races in
the country are ding ding ding (YOU) and (RON ZENZEN) again please (THINK) about it!

Exclamation Re: The new BIR payout

Lets stay cool here now boys.
We can’t get where we need to be if we all don’t
work together. This should be FUN !
Not a place to bitch at each other.
This payout is not etched in stone nor is there
any reason to get upset.
I have got the BIR combo races a sponsor.
Eric Kitzan Trucking Of Glen Ullin ND.
Has committed !!!ON HIS OWN WITH OUT ANYONE ASKING HIM!!!
to A $500 SPONSORSHIP
for the 5 combo races at BIR. ($100 EACH RACE)

I would like to thank Eric from myself and all that will attend the races a BIG Thank You!

Now we don’t know how we are going to divide it up and put it in to the pay-out.

I am thinking $75 for the winner $25 r/u.EACH RACE

Myself and Ron Prince are going to set up a payout plan
from 16 - 32 cars
and get it approved by BIR.
I will then post it for you all to see!
Thanks!
Glen DeMENGE

I am working hard to keep this going in the right direction
Please work with me here we need to stay positive!!!
Thanks again!

I doubt any of you will miss me if I'm there or not.
If your happy the way the payout has been in the past (prior to this season), then good for you...I haven't been, and that's why I have stayed away from racing the BIR combos. I am happy there is a direction with BIR and the committee.

Get 33 cars to show, this can work...if not, it's not going to be worth it with out some sort of guaranteed payout. You just won't get the cars to show (case in point as Mr. Mattson pointed out---demographics) for a 1-day race. And in 2012 S/SS at BIR will be no more.

It effects me VERY little, as I will gladly bracket race my Chevelle.

Together on another thread, we brainstormed over 70 S/SS racer's names from MN alone. Why have only 16 to 24 been showing up? If that issue get's solved, all this blah, blah, blah bickering will stop.
